What I do

in the office
With over seven years of experience as a data visualization designer and business analyst, I specialize in designing and developing impactful business intelligence dashboards for Fortune 500 companies. I focus on delivering both effectiveness and visual appeal, ensuring easy maintenance, sustainability and actionable insights.

In my personal projects, I love exploring unique datasets, creating innovative charts, and experimenting with new technologies. I'm always looking for fresh ways to visualize complex information and tell compelling stories. I often find that what I learn in these pet projects can be applied to other business projects too!
at the slopes
I also occasionally disappear to the mountains to share the joy of skiing and snowboarding with others. I teach kids and adults of all levels, and it makes me very happy.
where they connect
These two activities might seem completely unrelated, but they’re actually not. Instructing turned out to be a soft skills bootcamp unlike any corporate training I’ve experienced.

Interestingly, teaching someone how to slide down on a hill on a wooden stick isn’t that different from helping stakeholders understand what their data is telling them.
outside work
When I’m not deep in data or snow, you’ll find me tending to my cherry tomatoes in my garden, riding my 30-year-old Peugeot bike around the city, or at a public bench with a book in hand.

What’s a handmade data object anyways?
An experimental project that landed us in the Data Visualization Society’s Nightingale magazine.

A heartbreaking viz with a single message: glacier ice is disappearing and it’s disappearing fast.

An ode to pies and pie alternatives
Pie charts aren’t all bad! An in-depth article discussing all things pie, including an appealing alternative.
3 different circular chart variations using the area visual code are compared: the pie chart, the moon chart and the moonpie chart. All chart types are shown with different values: 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% to make the visual comparison easier.

A personal visualization using self-tracked snowboarding data from Austria, mapping slope length, elevation, and difficulty.

Line colour shows slope difficulty (blue = beginner, red = intermediate, black = advanced; grey = ski lifts). Line position shows altitude, while length represents distance travelled.
St. Medard's Day
Is folk meteorology true? Does it really rain for 40 days afterwards, if it rains on Medard Day?
A sun-like visualization showcasing 100 years of rain patterns in Budapest for 40 days after the 8th of June. It’s designed to fact check popular folk meteorology which says that if it rains on Medard Day, it’s supposed to rain for another 40 days, otherwise a drought would follow.
Greetings from Bali
Still running from COVID, this time to Bali. A postcard design about the adventures shared, using Google Locations data.

Days on snow
A personal visualization from my first season instructing. Tracking days spent on snow, inspired by the Japanese flag.
